Luminari-Tech is developing a needle-free, non-invasive wearable health monitoring patch, which uses sweat-based sensing to provide continuous health insights.
The solution targets the 4.2 million adults who, according to 2024 figures, live with diabetes. Many of these patients live in underserved and rural areas, with limited access to pharmacies, healthcare facilities and medical technology – and yet, ongoing glucose monitoring is essential for effective health management.
Luminari-Tech’s patch is intended as a cost-effective, pain-free alternative to current management methods, which typically rely on finger-prick needles or sensors that penetrate the skin; both of which cause discomfort and may create barriers to efficient monitoring.
